about
i've always been attracted to graphic tees from the past: the simple designs, the stains, the holes from wear and tear - everything that makes them perfectly imperfect. i'm constantly trying to recreate that vintage look with our tees.
a note from our founder
i'm kristin, founder of no. 1926. i was born and raised in the midwest but have called san diego home for over two decades. my love for this city runs deep - it's where many significant milestones unfolded, where my family is now rooted, and where no. 1926 took its shape.
vintage tees have always held a unique allure for me - their faded hues and worn textures possess an incomparable charm that carries me back to days gone by. i'm sure you have a similar piece in your wardrobe, weathered but treasured for the memories it encapsulates - a place, a happy occasion, or maybe a special someone. these are the pieces that become timeless companions, offering nostalgia, and joy with each wear.
when i created no. 1926 my vision was to craft tees that not only looked and felt incredible but also resonated deeply with those who wear them. it was crucial that they have an exceptional level of softness, exuding a sense of comfort that comes from years of wear, all while maintaining their durability.
what sets our tees apart, however, is not just their quality and design. it's the fact that each tee is meticulously crafted, cut, sewn, and printed right here in san diego. this decision was not an easy one, as san diego isn't widely known as a clothing manufacturing hub in the united states. it would have been simpler to order blanks from overseas. but for me, it was of utmost importance to create our tees completely from scratch, right here in our hometown.
by doing so, we not only support local craftsmen, but we also affirm our belief in their skill and dedication. our pattern makers, sewers, cutters, and printers pour their expertise and livelihood into each tee we produce. your support of no. 1926 means more than you may realize — it shows that you value the hard work of the people of san diego.
from the depths of my heart, i want to express my sincerest gratitude to each and every one of you who supports us. your belief in local manufacturing means the world to us, and we are honored to have your trust.

the decision to name the company after her birth year was not just a mere gesture, but a heartfelt tribute to honor her lasting influence and enduring inspiration. it serves as a constant reminder of the values and traditions she instilled, ensuring that her remarkable legacy will continue for years to come.
